Pasikuda

Calm, shallow waters that stay waist-deep far from shore, making it one of the safest and most relaxing beaches in the country for families.

About Pasikuda

Pasikuda is built around a wide, shallow bay protected by a reef, and the water stays waist-deep for hundreds of metres out from the sand. There is almost no current and barely any surf, which makes it the most reassuring beach in Sri Lanka for families with young children and for anyone who is not a confident swimmer.

The bay has developed into the east coast's main resort strip, with a run of hotels along the sand, but the beach is broad enough that it rarely feels busy.
