Hiriketiya

A stylish horseshoe bay on the south coast, popular with surfers and digital nomads for its beach cafes, yoga studios and easy waves.

About Hiriketiya

Hiriketiya is a small horseshoe-shaped bay near Dickwella that has grown, in barely a decade, from a fishing cove into the most stylish little beach destination on the south coast. It is a favourite of surfers and remote workers, and the mix gives it an easy, creative atmosphere.

The bay is unusually versatile: a mellow beach break in the middle of the horseshoe for beginners, and a punchier left-hand reef break off the point for experienced surfers. Around the sand are timber cafés, yoga shalas and specialty coffee — small in scale and deliberately low-key.

  • Beginner beach break and a left reef break off the point
